Who isn’t pressed for time these days? It’s hard enough to find the time to even sit and relax for five minutes, let alone make your hair look presentable on a daily basis. Well, what if I told you that there’s a product that will cut your shower time in half, all while making your hair look better than ever? Too good to be true? Salon Grafix says otherwise.

This week, I tried out the Salon Grafix Conditioning Cleanser for dry and damaged hair. This product does not represent your typical shampoo and conditioner routine. Instead, it is a single product that does both the shampooing and conditioning at the same time, while insuring that the natural oils in your hair stay in tact and get the chance to shine through. Other shampoos often have sulfates, which strip the hair not only of essential oils for healthy locks, but also cause breakage and faster color fade. Amazingly, this product is sulfate-free and includes soy proteins, wheat proteins, and Moroccan macadamia oil for a pleasant scent.

The “no poo” idea has been trending in the blogging community for quite some time, and I’ve been wanting to give it a chance. The secret to this popular new method is to use products (such as the Salon Grafix one that I tried) in place of your regular shampoo and condition routine. Ideally, after using a cleansing conditioner alone and waiting a few days between washes, your scalp and hair will become balanced out with the right amount of oils, meaning that you won’t have to put up with greasy hair anymore! As a bonus, the treatment will cost you less for products, save you time, and ward off the dreaded grease that accumulates so quickly after normal washing.

The conditioning cleanser smelled wonderful, but I must say that the process takes some getting used to! Usually I like to lather my hair in bubbly shampoo, but the conditioning cleanser is more like the consistency of just a conditioner. It won’t lather up, but it does still leave your scalp feeling clean. After I massaged the cleanser through my hair, I left it in for a few minutes, per instructions on the bottle. Then, I rinsed it out, towel dried my hair a bit, and put some more of the product on the ends of my hair. It also works really well as a leave-in conditioner too! So far it’s been two days since I washed my hair, and I feel like it is still clean and fresh! I’ll go again tomorrow without a wash, just to get into the routine of things.

Don’t be afraid to try this method out, because I don’t think you’ll regret it in the end! If you feel a little greasy in between washes, try using a good dry shampoo. My favorite is the Batiste one, which you can get almost at any local drug store.
