Flatforms

Reach new heights with flatform sandals that are seen on all of your favorite celebrities and fashion bloggers this spring and summer. You’ll feel long, lean and graceful without hindering your ability to walk on the beach or cartwheel in the park if the occasion calls.

Flatforms look chic paired with a chambray shirt dress, a little white sundress, overalls or even jean shorts and a tee. Flatforms naturally feel pretty casual so they work well for a Memorial weekend barbecue or perusing your local farmer’s market. Dress up your look with structured and polished accessories to make this trend great for dinner out or with your chicest resort wear.

Exposed Shoulders

Giving someone the cold shoulder no longer means you’re the unfriendly one in the room. One of this season’s flirtiest looks involves baring your shoulders with fully off-the shoulder tops or shoulder cut-outs. These tops feel breezy and cool for hot, humid summer days and transition easily from day to night.

Cold-shoulder tops come in a variety of silhouettes to flatter any woman’s figure. Pair a fitted off the shoulder top with an a-line skirt and booties for a girls’ night out, with a pair of white denim and wedges for a sweet daytime look or with a punchy lip color for a fashion forward aesthetic.

Choker Necklaces

Normally the choker necklace is reserved strictly for rock concerts but this season they’re popping up everywhere from the red carpet to date night. Even Taylor Swift, the iconic “good girl” has proclaimed her love of choker necklaces calling them “the new flower crowns” on her Instagram account. While a choker necklace isn’t necessarily appropriate for a conservative office setting you can confidently wear the trend this season without going overly grungy.

This trend looks chic paired with a slip dress, crop top or billowy lace up boho inspired top. Channel your inner supermodel adding a choker with a carefree off the shoulder tee for an ultra trendy look that doesn’t feel contrived.

Ultra high Slit

If your legs are your favorite asset this summer is the season to really show them off. Everything from wedding dresses to maxi skirts to red carpet gowns feature sky high slits meant to drop jaws. Since this trend shows a lot of skin balance out the look by choosing a dress with a higher neckline. The best part about slits is they give you a natural excuse to show off your shoes meaning you definitely can justify splurging on a pair of gorgeous heels to accompany the look. To tone down the sexy vibe pair your maxi with a pair of flats or wedges, you’ll still show off your legs without looking too dressed up for lunch with your girlfriends or sister.

Poms & Tassels

Whether you’re opting for bright pom sandals or subtle tassels to line the hem of a black tee, the trick with lively little details is ensuring your ensemble isn’t over the top or costume-esque. Avoid looking circus like by incorporating neutrals and sophisticated accents to balance the playful vibe poms and tassels conjure. Keep your occasion in mind when adding this trend to your look of the day. For a day at the pool feel free to mix funky pom sandals with patterned shorts and a neutral top, for an evening out add a pom or tassel bag as an accent to a sleek evening dress with wedges or heels.
