Take a Cue From Meghan Trainor and Wear What You Want

As a mom, I always crack up when I catch my kids be-bopping to popular music hits, especially in the car when I can see them in the rearview mirror acting silly. Lately, we’ve had Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” and “No” playing on repeat. The catchy tunes, confident lyrics and dance-inducing beats have us bouncing around the car and blasting the volume (me included!).

I was super excited when I received an opportunity to attend Meghan Trainor’s The Untouchable Tour” with Tampax and Always Radiant Collection and bring my 8 year old daughter along. Encouraging fans to #WearWhatYouWant, with the protection of Tampax, you can wear whatever suits your mood, without the worry. Not only was it an opportunity to see Meghan bring down the house at Wamu Theater in Seattle, but we actually got to meet the artist in person. What a fun treat.

With a pretty stellar resume, Meghan started playing and performing music at a young age, and had produced three albums between 15 and 17 years old. She’s had numerous chart-topping hits and her music is a mix of 60’s-retro and modern day pop. You have probably found yourself singing along with some of her latest hits. At 22 years old, Meghan has figured out that confidence is key. You don’t have to care what people think, you just have to be happy with yourself. Her songs include positive messages and themes around female empowerment, body image, and confidence. She sings about putting yourself and your family first vs. doing what everyone else does.

Meghan’s music resonates with a wide range of people and ages.  From my daughter who is in elementary school the parents in the audience, everyone was having a great time. Her message is of female empowerment, body image, and self-confidence. We need more of this for our girls. As role models for young girls, I wish more female artists could evoke the confidence that Meghan does.

It is no surprise that Meghan has partnered with a brand like Tampax to provide leak-free period protection and the confidence to #WearWhatYouWant no matter what day of the month it is. Find more info on the Tampax Radiant Collection here.
