Let’s face it, no one likes the process of removing unwanted body hair, but it is one of life’s realities. Thankfully, there are ways to make it easier and less time consuming. Whether you normally go to a salon and need a quick fix, or you typically use at-home remedies, these tips are sure to help make removing unwanted hair a breeze. Bonus: Everything is available at your local drugstore for less than a bikini wax.
Tip 1) Before you shave, take a hot bath or shower (or shave in the shower). Hot water softens hair, making it easier to remove with a razor.
Tip 2) Please do not use your bar soap to shave. The key to nic-free shaving is to use a good shave cream. I absolutely love EOS Pomegranate Raspberry Shave Cream ($3) – it smells divine and leaves skin smooth and soft.
Tip 3) Use a razor with moisturizing strips, like Bic’s Soleil® Bella™ ($5). I was given a sample to try out and was really happy with the results. Using skin-soothing coconut, the four flexible blades contour to your body. Moisturizer releases as you shave, leaving skin soft not dry. Bic also offers their Soleil® Shave & Trim system, that comes with a removable trimmer. Super convenient and at a great price.
Tip 4) Treat razor burn and bumps before pain begins with Tend Skin Liquid ($16). This formula has been around for years, but it still works better than ever. Save skin and combat unsightly razor bumps quickly and easily.
Tip 5) If waxing is your thing, go with a tried-and-true brand like Nad’s. They’ve been around for years, and have a wax for basically every body part you could imagine. Each kit comes with everything you need to treat a specific area – from underarms to eyebrows. The Eyebrow Shaper Kit ($5.50) is my favorite, complete with a no-mess applicator and cotton strips.
