Even in 80 degree weather, the Jada AW 2014 Collection has me dreaming of fall. Created by Jada Lynton, the designer set out to create a line for the busy, stylish woman. The result? Minimalist silhouettes with a modern twist on classic work-ready pieces.
Manufactured in the UK by an in-house seamstress, the collection boasts a series of staples every woman should have in her closet – the little black dress, pencil skirt, trench coat, to name a few. Each piece is exquisitely crafted, and designed to take her from day to night effortlessly. In muted neutrals, the collection has a sophisticated aesthetic and mixes luxe fabrics re-worked in artful shapes.
Starting her career as an art student with a focus on sculptural design, Lynton was no stranger to the fashion scene. She was influenced by three generations of tailors and seamstresses, and grew up familiar with the inner-workings of a dressmakers studio. After graduating from the University of the Creative Arts Rochester in 2009, she became design assistant and sales representative at Beekay Menswear. Since then, she worked for a number of fashion brands including Georgia Hardinge, Gucci, and Prada.
