{Guest Post} Fall 2014 Trends: Five Favorite Oxblood Pieces

Fall 2014 Trend: Oxblood

Burgundy, oxblood, wine, rouge: the color has many names but one big impact. This fall it is making an appearance once again in the form of accessories, handbags, shoes, coats and makeup. The recent Nordstrom Designer Preview Runway Show featured this gorgeous color in pieces by designers like Valentino and Fendi. The epitome of glamour, oxblood is also a chameleon of flattery when paired with other colors. It makes grey seem more gorgeous, it gives brights a chic edge, and it softens black.  Here are some of my current favorite pieces:

Trina Turk “New Jane” Wool and Alpaca Wrap Coat
California brand Trina Turk has presented a fall/winter 2014-15 collection with statement making pieces that really stand out. The coats in particular were covetable, starting with this beautiful “New Jane” wool and alpaca wrap coat. The flattering belted look, wide plush collar and deep lush color are pure elegance.

Valentino pieces are always amazing, and their double wrap bracelet is a modern classic. Wearable year round, you can pair it with an all white outfit or cool denim this summer, then get it out for a punch of color with your fall neutrals. It is little bit of attitude and a whole lot of glam.
