Get ready for holiday festivities with some of these favorites beauty items. These also double as much appreciated stocking stuffers for the beauty junkies in your life!
Face Wash: Start your beautification process with cleansed skin. I am currently loving Citrus Clear’s Sensitive Face Wash (with natural tahitian lime). A mix of citrus ingredients cleanses skin without drying it out, the formula is lightweight enough to use every day. The lime scent is strong, but not overpowering, if anything it “wakes up” the senses, making it the perfect product for tired mornings. Skin feels refreshed, balanced and calm. Citrus Clear products are made without harsh chemicals (yay!) and added ingredients that weigh you down. This cleanser is perfect for my sensitive (and very picky) skin.
Lip Care: Winter weather can cause chapped lips, and I look to none other than the original ChapStick® to keep lips moisturized and smooth. The brand recently reached out to share their fun and festive holiday tins in seasonal flavors (that make perfect stocking stuffers, by the way). Yum – Gingerbread Kiss! The products do double duty, prepping lips for your favorite color, and smelling divine at the same time. I personally like the Candy Cane flavor, as it feels like it somehow freshens breath too.
Hair Care: With extra styling during the holiday party season, hair needs some extra love. Shielo’s Antioxidant Leave-In Protectant ($18)adds a protective layer to your locks, helping to prevent damage from the environment as well as over-styling. Ingredients include pro-vitamins, proteins and amino acids to slow-down color loss and provide UV protection, all while being completely free of parabens. It’s also a great product to use when you blowdry, because it will help protect hair from damaging heat. I love the light scent as well.
On a recent girls trip to Napa, CA, my best friend shared ALTERNA Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist ($25) with me. I always struggle with flyaways and frizz, and Alterna’s Dry Oil Mist did the trick. It sprays on super lightly, yet somehow magically smooths hair and leaves locks shiny. Bonus: This dry oil actually helps nourish hair and helps prevent damage. Alterna products do not contain Parabens and all of those other nasty ingredients.
Makeup: Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick ($25) is a richly hued, longwearing shadow stick glides on smooth for day to evening glamour. I received a sample of the eyeshadow in saddle shimmer, and love how it looks with my complexion. I had lately been wearing a gold shimmery shadow, and this one has a bit of copper in it, making it the perfect metallic addition to my eyes. I am dying to try some of the other colors like platinum and taupe to play with creating a smokey eye. Bonus, the texture of this shadow is creamy, helping to fill in fine lines. To compliment your pretty shadow, try Mally’s professional full-volume mascara ($20). Lashes look fuller and longer. I personally love the wand as the brushes are soft and don’t seem to clump lashes.
Clark’s Botanicals has teamed up with designer Thakoon to create a fun party clutch filled with beauty items ($65). Perfect for a gift for yourself or someone special, the clutch includes moisturizing beauty products to help save your skin during winter’s chilly nights. You’ll get: Clark’s Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Tint in 24K Kiss, Smoothing Marine Cream, Intense Radiance Mask, Cellular Lifting Moisture Mist.
