If you are a reader of Skinnypurse.com, by now you know of my complete adoration of HydroPeptide Skin Care. After discovering the line at a Spa in Palm Springs, I have been hooked on their products ever since. I swear by the anti-wrinkle sunscreen and soothing serum (and basically everything else from the line).
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of trying out a HydroPeptide facial at InSpa in the University Village. I was very excited to try out the products, but also to visit InSpa. As a frequent U Village shopper, InSpa is literally in my backyard, yet, I had not ever been there. The spa experience was extremely pleasant – clean space, serene, super-friendly staff. Margie, my esthetician was excellent. She was knowledgeable about the product, and took the time to assess my skin condition, and then make adjustments to the facial products based on what would be best for my skin. I loved that she did not take a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to my treatment.
Relaxing on a comfortable treatment bed, my facial began with the mild cleansing gel, exfoliating cleanser and toner. Several othe HydroPeptide products followed, each selected to help with my skin needs. With every product used, I felt more relaxed, and my skin felt better and better. InSpa offers fabulous extra touches – during moments where products needed to sink into my skin, Margie offered neck, scalp and arm massages.
After the treatment, Margie recommended a few products she used that would help maintain the effects of the facial:
HydroPeptide Anti-Wrinkle Polish & Plump Peel ($68): A lightly granular exfoliant that smells citrusy. This at-home peel is easy to use. Apply in light circular motions, and you will feel the gentle exfoliation of dead skin cells and impurities. Let it sit on skin for a few minutes, then apply part 2 of the treatment, Lactic Acid. This serum mixes with the peel more deeply purifying results. The formulas contain peptides, vitamin C, green tea, bearberry and cucumber.
Note: After a few weeks of using the Anti-wrinkle polish and plump peel, my skin is visibly smoother. Unlike your traditional peels that can irritate sensitive skin and leave redness behind, HydroPeptide’s exfoliates and polishes without any recovery period. I can see why Fitness Magazine awarded this the “Best Skin Refresher”!
Instant Peptide Miracle Mask ($46): This multi-faceted formula is smooth, rich and creamy – your skin will drink it up. Use weekly after the anti-wrinkle polish and plump peel. Instant peptide miracle mask contains enzymes which encourage the natural shedding process of skin. It also contains many other skin-perfecting ingredients, like clay to purify without drying, bearberry to brighten and peptides to fill in wrinkles. The result is smooth, healthy skin.
If you are in Washington or California, I highly recommend booking an appointment at InSpa for a HydroPeptide Facial. Priced around $105, the results are long lasting and totally luxurious. For more information, visit HydroPeptide.com.
