Let’s face it (pun intended), we all want to keep our youthful glow for as long as possible. As much as we wish that it was simply in our genes to prevent aging, the sad reality is that it takes diligent, daily care in order to maintain skin elasticity. Luckily, it’s never too late to start the prevention process, or even to reduce the damage already done. One step in the right direction is to hydrate your skin and “relax” it after a long day of exposure to sun, pollution, makeup, and dirt. What better way to do that than with an ultra-hydrating facial mask? Or better yet, a mask with wine in it? Confirmed: wine really is the cure for anything.
The folks over at Wilma Schumann European Skin Care were kind enough to send over a multipack of their four varieties of facial masks, which included the collagen mask (hydrating), the aloe vera mask (soothing), the deep sea soil (nourishing), and the red wine mask (anti-oxidant). Naturally, the first mask that I chose to indulge in was the red wine mask.

Made from safe polymers and loads of nourishing elements, the masks create a microclimate between the skin and the mask, allowing for optimal hydration and repairing properties. Lost in the technicalities? Just put it on, and you’ll feel just how hydrating the mask is.
To start with, tilt your head back, make sure to position the mask around the nose region first, and then fasten the eye slits into a comfortable position. The mask will stretch to fit your face shape perfectly, so make sure to try and adjust it to just the right position. Once the mask is fitted to your facial features, lay back and relax for 15 minutes, to let the polymers work their magic.
Testing out the Wine Mask
Cool and refreshing, this mask made me feel ultra-pampered, all from the comfort of my home. To remove the mask, start at the chin region and slowly pull upwards, tossing the mask in the trash when you’re done. Make sure not to rinse afterwards, though: you want all of the nutrients to sink in!
I woke up this morning, and let me just say that my skin has never felt softer or looked brighter. The tiny little white pimples that I had have vanished, and all of the dry patches were completely gone. I can’t wait to use the rest of the masks, and it’s safe to say that I’m hooked!
