Here is this week’s installment of 9 to 5: Taking Your Look from Day to Night
This week a simple swap out of bag and shoes is all you need to easily take your look from day to night. We started with an elegant sheath dress by Calvin Klein and paired it with two different shoes and bags to create our two looks. This dress is great because it is sophisticated enough to wear to work, but flirty ruffles make it fun for a night out. This is definitely a good staple LBD to have on hand.

Day
For Day, we’ve added a pair of black and white goat leather pumps from Marc by Marc Jacobs. These were on sale(!) and a great investment shoe because they can easily be dressed up or down. Wear them with everything from jeans to pencil skirts. The bag we chose is a roomy, yet structured teal leather Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini Bag that has a shoulder strap in addition to top handles, for ease of use. The bag is perfect for work because you can fit everything from a water bottle to a makeup bag on top of the usual cell phone, wallet, keys, etc. The result? Get ready to break out your presentation because this look is meeting ready!
Night:
To take the outfit from day to evening, we’ve swapped out the shoes and bag for something more appropriate. By adding a pair of purple leather cutout booties, the dress becomes slightly more festive, a look that’s well-suited for a night out. These booties would also work well with a pair of skinny jeans. A black studded clutch toughens the look just a bit. The clutch is from Express and is great because it’s inexpensive! The whole look gets sexier and party ready.
