I’ve worn glasses since high-school, and remember going to the store every year to buy new ones. Once I left home, I realized just how expensive eyewear can be. How frustrating, since I needed to see! While a fabulous pair of designer specs can look amazing, sometimes that luxury simply breaks the bank. But there are some online stores on the scene that offer designer-inspired glasses at a fraction of the cost. When GlassesUSA.com reached out to me to do a product review, I was curious (and a bit skeptical). How can they offer high-quality eyewear for less than $100?
I chose the Hilarie frames in black. They arrived in a few days and fit well. I have a pretty significant astigmatism (thanks mom!), so I was concerned that they wouldn’t be able to fill my prescription. But the lenses worked out great. The frames themselves are quite delicate so these are glasses I am going to keep away from my 1 year old who loves to grab.
When shopping online, I am a stickler for easy navigation. If a merchant makes it hard for me to shop, I’m out. And buying eye glasses online can be difficult because you don’t have the option of trying frames on. GlassesUSA.com does a really good job of providing tons of information about their products, intuitive navigation, and lots of ways to search and sort by what you are looking for. I’m a plastic frame kind of girl, so I sorted by women’s, plastic, small frames and easily found a pair that suited me.
Once you select a frame, you choose a lens thickness and enter your prescription information. You can then select add-on options like anti-scratch or reflective coatings, and transition lenses. You can also order sunglasses or multifocal glasses.
And while their prices are great, cheaper is better! Right now they are having a back to school sale where you can save 10% on your purchase of eyeglasses with code Blog10. I’m thinking of going back for another pair – the iSee collection has a bunch of cute styles. Also check out:
– BOGO SALE: Buy any pair of glasses valued at $50 or more and get a second pair of glasses free with code Back2School
– Take $25 off any order of glasses with Transitions lenses with code Trans25
Note: I received a gift code to use toward the purchase of my glasses. The opinions above are 100% my own.
