I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sara Seumae, the founder and creator of organic indie-brand SPUN. This entrepreneurial mother of two created the line in 2008, after a quest for affordable organic cotton clothing left her disappointed. Not finding what she was looking for on the market, she decided to produce it herself. After hearing the story on how SPUN got started, I can relate to Sara’s sentiments. Having children immediately blasts you into a world where suddenly you want everything that touches you or your baby to be eco-friendly.
Sara’s search also led her to the self-discovery that she had entrepreneurial blood within her. Her father had recounted a story about trying a few different companies before eventually finding the one that resulted in success. It was meant to be. Sara’s collection debuted in February 2008 and has been gaining momentum ever sense.
Each 100% organic cotton piece is made in the USA, under eco-conscious conditions. Beginning with a set of well-designed, comfortable basics, the foundation of every woman’s wardrobe, SPUN’s collection of stylish wardrobe essentials continues to expand. Each piece is flattering, comfortable and fashionable.
SPUN items can be purchased online at Fashion Ethic and Moxsie.com
