Unless you’re a contestant on Project Runway, or you’re just really crafty, chances are you don’t often get the opportunity to create your own prints and textiles… and then actually get to wear them! Kate Spade’s relatively more wallet-friendly collection, Saturday, has debuted a new DIY-friendly capsule collection that allows you to unleash that bottled-up creativity! Appropriately named “Color It In,” the black-and-white windowpane-printed pieces are designed to be doodled on and colored in with fabric markers, letting you create your own pixelated prints or colorblocking effects. From bags and shoes to dresses, skinny jeans, and blouses – you could even create an entire head-to-toe ensemble in your own signature print. Pretty cool, right? I’ll admit that I’m probably not ambitious, creative, or confident enough to channel my childhood coloring book queen and make the results actually look wearable, it’s a pretty adorable idea for all the style mavens out there anxious to show off their own print-making talents!
