Splendid is known for churning out plenty of comfy-chic basics on a regular basis, from soft striped henleys and cozy hoodies to cute casual tanks, tees, and skirts for effortless warm-weather layering. Now, they’re expanding their empire to include footwear to boot! The brand’s debut shoe collection features a modest series of espadrilles, sneakers, and sandals to round out their nautical-chic spring/summer 2012 collection, and so far the looks are reading a bit “4th of July”… in a totally refreshing is-it-summer-yet? sort of way. If you’re addicted to collecting wedges like I am, you’ll love the 4-inch canvas “Perfect” platform espadrille, which comes in red, tan, and an adorable navy-and-white striped pattern. Ditch your Toms (okay, don’t ditch them – they do benefit charity) and swap for the super-cute “Rave Espadrille,” which puts a summery spin on the sportier sneaker style. If flat sandals are more of your thing, you’ll adore the “Morocco” sandal, which boasts a delicate shape but still makes an impact with contrast color-blocking – I love the red and teal Strawberry shade!
