Colorful hues, exotic skins and stylish designs make up the essence of Johanna Konanz handbags. Inspired by old Hollywood glamour, the designer set out to create a line of bags for every occasion, incorporating an element of luxury in the materials she uses.
Without sacrificing a drop of style, Konanz uses premium python and crocodile for her line of bags. All of the skins are sustainably sourced under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), a program in Colombia which works to maintain the balance of biodiversity in the wild.
I was thrilled to review a hand-picked selection of Johanna Konanz bags up close and personal. Beginning with a large, top handle red python and white canvas bag, perfect as an everyday carryall. I love how this bag mixes luxurious details like the python skin, and casual practicality of the canvas. It gives a bit of a nod to the nautical as well.
The Firenze Handbag in bright yellow python is one of my favorites. Double top handles and a bright purple suede lining create a chic ladylike bag. The material is lightweight, perfect for a mom like me who always seems to have too much stuff in her bag. I like how the empty bag is light to begin with. Bag measures 12″ x 8″ x 7″.
The Amalfi Handbag is ideal for a day in town – lunch, errands, shopping. A compact style and cross-body strap create convenience, while the bright blue crocodile skin and canvas body provide a modern mix of materials. The strap is detachable to convert the bag to a chic clutch. Bag measures 12” x 7” x 2.
For evening, the Rimini Clutch is a must. Two colors of python skin meld to create a stunning contrast, tied all together with a long chain shoulder strap. This is one that will turn heads. The compact size holds just the essentials for a night out. Bag measures 5.5″ x 7″ x 2″.
Finally, hold money and credit cards in the Capri Wallet. Bright red Crocodile skin adds a pop of color. The zip around closure provides easy access. Sixteen credit card slots, two billfold compartments and one zip pocket provide plenty of room. Wallet measures 8” x 4”. (I received a red wallet, but the one pictured on the site is blue).
