So, we’ll get right to it: we like tie-dye denim! Of course, everyone saw it at the Balmain Spring 2009 runway show, and the reaction was mixed. But like most up-and-coming trends, tie-dye skinnies can be seen on tons of celebs. From Fergie to Nicole Ritchie, girls are wearing their tie-dye with pride. The look is popping up on everything from jeans, to mini-skirts and shorts.
Tie-dye and acid washes remind us of high-school, when we’d literally use rubber bands to gather pieces of our jeans and soak them in buckets of bleach. Total DIY! Like many trends from the 80’s that are coming and going, tie-dye and acid wash denim is one trend that has it’s place, for awhile at least.
How to wear it:
Do: Be sure to keep the rest of your look simple
Don’t: don’t pair your loud jeans, skirt or shorts with a patterned top
Do: Have fun with your look – wear cute booties or sexy heels
Don’t: don’t mix too many trends from years past like high waists or denim on denim
